Kim Newman specializes in workers’ compensation and subrogation and has successfully represented employers, carriers, and TPA’s for more than 32 years. She has extensive experience in defending a wide variety of claims through all appellate levels for clients across a variety of industries, including transportation and trucking, construction, retail, healthcare, manufacturing, mining, and agricultural. Kim’s clients appreciate her attention to detail, aggressive and creative claim handling, and the personal attention she provides.
Kim obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky College of Business. She thereafter attended the University of Louisville School of Law. After graduating in 1991, Kim returned to Lexington and began her legal career with a local insurance defense firm, where she eventually became a partner. In 2003, Kim accepted an opportunity to open a Kentucky office for a large regional insurance defense firm. She initially served as the Managing Attorney of the Kentucky office and later became an owner and Managing Member of the firm.
Kim is a frequent speaker on Kentucky Workers’ Compensation, educating and assisting clients throughout the country regarding Kentucky workers’ compensation practice issues and risk management strategies.
